This product is designed to guide students as they read non-fiction, current event articles on Newsela.com. The students will recognize elements of reading as they write a reflection on the article. Then, they will respond to the article using personal connections with the article they chose. Finally, they will create a comic strip that reflects the information they gathered from reading. This is a great tool to use to keep students engaged and help teachers assess student understanding.
