This project was designed for gifted third-grade students, but can easily be used with third through fifth graders. It encompasses design, adding fractions to make a whole, word problems, analyzing a short gardening poem, art, and practical life skills all themed around setting up a home garden (or container on the patio).
This PowerPoint will takes the participant through choosing appropriate units and making conversions It also provides an interesting and challenging activity for measuring and understanding length, capacity, and weight. Answers are provided on the last slide - you can delete the last slide if you'd like, but I find it helpful during this time of distance learning.
This menu gives students three verbal/linguistic, three visual/spatial, and three logical/mathematical choices to complete in a tic - tac - toe style for the novel, Save Me A Seat, by Sarah Weeks and Gita Viradarajan.
