As a World Language teacher and Curriculum coordinator, I have been looking for ways to help students and colleagues understand what it means to be a Novice-Mid to an Intermediate-High language speaker. As many do, I turned to ACTFL's Proficiency Guidelines, received training, and finally obtained certification in the Oral Proficiency Interview.  However, I still struggled with turning ACTFL's Guidelines into user friendly (student and teacher) language that were clearer and less vague.
