I have 25 years of experience teaching English and have created lessons for Advanced Placement and dual credit courses as well as writing and research at the community college level. My classes are learning focused and student led.

Awards & shining teacher moments

When I taught at the community college level, I received the Outstanding Commitment to Higher Education award twice. I was a founding board member for nonprofit education organization, and in college, I was a member of Sigma Tau Delta and on my college debate team.

My own education history

I have a bachelor's degree in Comprehensive English Education and have taken myriad courses in educational leadership, curriculum design, technology, and graphic design.

Additional biographical information

I love hiking in the mountains, spending time with my family, and reading fiction and nonfiction. I'm a news junkie who loves to teach newspaper layout and design to students.
