About the store
Hi! I’m Jessica Kidd, the teacher behind Kidd Lit. I’ve been in education for over 10 years, teaching both elementary and middle school, with a special passion for middle school ELA. I love creating engaging, interactive resources that help students build stronger reading, writing, and vocabulary skills — and that make teachers’ lives easier. My classroom focus has always been on making literacy meaningful, whether that’s through Greek and Latin root studies, literature-based units, or creative writing projects. Every resource in my store has been tested with real students and designed to be clear, ready-to-use, and classroom friendly. When I’m not teaching or designing, you can usually find me with a good book, coaching a dance team, or exploring the Idaho outdoors with my family.

Teaching style

At Kidd Lit, every resource is built on my belief that students learn best when lessons are engaging, clear, and connected to their lives. With over a decade of experience in elementary and middle school — and a special love for middle school ELA — I create interactive, ready-to-use materials that help students not just memorize content, but truly understand and apply it. My teaching style combines high expectations with genuine student connection, so every activity is designed to challenge learners while keeping them motivated and confident. Whether it’s exploring Greek and Latin roots, diving into literature, or building strong writing skills, you’ll find resources here that are classroom-tested, student-approved, and teacher-friendly.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Over the course of my career, I’ve been honored to receive recognition for both my classroom teaching and my coaching leadership. I was named District Teacher of the Year, a reflection of my commitment to creating engaging, effective learning experiences for all students. Beyond the classroom, I led my high school dance team to a state championship, an achievement that speaks to my passion for teamwork, discipline, and helping students reach their full potential in every arena.

My own education history

I hold a Bachelor’s degree in Education and earned my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in the summer of 2025. With over a decade of classroom experience, I pair my formal training with real-world teaching to create resources that are engaging, effective, and classroom-ready.
