This activity is to introduce students to circles and how to find the area and circumference. They will research answers to questions via the internet. Answer Key is provided.
This activity takes students on a journey to intellectual awareness of how positive and negative numbers has evolved over the years. I used this assignment in my google classroom so that students were able to submit their answers to me online.
This is an eight-week unit that was put together to deliver enrichment activities for grades 6-8 gifted resource distance learning platform. Students will be given the individual activities to complete for each week of instruction. All content areas have been incorporated into this unit along with hands-on and partner activities.
This webquest takes the students through the process of decimal operations. It covers the four arithmetic operations and how to use them when dealing with decimal numbers. It helps to engage students in self discovery and practice using decimal operations.
The following webquest takes students on an introductory journey into the rules of how to multiply and divide integers. The webquest allows the student to develop knowledge of rules by self investigation of content. It also gives them practice and engaging activities to help promote interest and learning.
Students will use their investigation skills to find answers to questions about subtracting integers. Once the students discover the strategy to help learn how to subtract integers, they will use this strategy to complete practice problems.
Students will create their own unique quilt pattern block using geometric shapes. They will record shapes and measurements on record sheet. They will find the area of each shape and then the total area of the design.
Students will create data displays based on data collected from their classmates. Students will chose one of the questions assigned on the activity sheet to collect data on. They will then analyze the data and decide what type of display would best support their data. The students will then construct a data display on legal paper following guidelines outlined in the rubric.
This webquest takes the students on a discovery of tessellations. It covers how tessellations developed, what they are made of, different types of tessellations, etc. Students will use their reading skills to find the answers to the questions.
Students will solve orders of operations problems to find the x coordinate and y coordinate to plot on the treasure map grid. Students will document trail as they plot their points. You could use this activity as a cut and paste activity also.
Students will use the given net to find the surface area of the rectangular prism. It is a Valentine's Day themed activity that the students can decorate for their special person to give as a valentine's card. Students will use their knowledge of finding area to help calculate the total surface area of the net.
Students are required to build a scrapbook to showcase math in real life. Students will use knowledge of the concepts learned to give examples of how math is used in real world settings.
This project has the students to conduct research on the types of data displays and choose one to use. Students will conduct survey to gather data and analyze the data to construct a poster or google slide. Students are given specific tasks to display on the poster project.
Use your knowledge of area formulas to complete the activity. This activity has you the students list the formulas, identify the measurements, and calculate the area of the shapes.
DOCUMENT CONTAINS A GRADE SUMMARY SHEET AND ANSWER SHEET TEMPLATE FOR MATH CENTERS OR REMEDIATION ACTIVITIES FOR EASY ACCESS AND DOCUMENTATION OF STUDENT GRADES.
Students will complete tasks to design a candy bar. Using the information collected, they will have to transform fractions to decimals to percents.
