I use 16 of the Concepts About Print items to assess my kids at the beginning of the year. This is a checklist to help organize the data and plan for instruction. It can help you plan individual as well as whole class instruction.

I use this in my kindergarten classroom as an independent literacy center. Students will search for words that BEGIN or END with the identified letter. You can choose which letter to have your students search for and write it in the blank. The font used is KG Primary Penmanship.
