This booklet is designed as review materials for fourth and fifth grade science before the SOL test. All units 4.1 to 4.9 and 5.1 to 5.7 are included. This can also be broken apart to go with individual units as preparation for unit tests.

"There are many ways to write a story." This slideshow breaks down lessons from HMH's Writers Workshop by day for 15 days of the unit. This correlates with the HMH materials that go with the writing workshop for this unit.

This project allowed students to create a relief map using salt dough to create a map of Virginia. Several locations that students need to know are included (cities, rivers, regions, border states) and must be labeled. Rubric included. CAN BE EDITED!

This literature unit is based on Granny Torrelli Makes Soup by Sharon Creech. This unit includes questions and words to define for certain page ranges within the book. Each section (Soup and Pasta) have a multiple choice and open answer quiz.

Included in this are notes on the bordering states to Virginia, Virginia's 5 regions, products and industries of those regions, and Virginia's major waterways. Each section comes with a review, some with a sort, and a final study guide and test for the unit.

These review pages serve as a guide to the scientific investigation unit for the Virginia science SOLs.

This is a lesson I use with my students every year. I have them plan a full Thanksgiving meal, then figure out how much money they will have to spend to get all the delicious meal items they want. We use grocery fliers from different grocers in the area. (Always donated, be sure to ask, I have never had a problem getting any store to donate its fliers!) It is always a fun, engaging activity that the students enjoy. Great for a short week before the holiday!
