PBIS stands for Positive Behavior Intervention and Supports. Attached are the 9 lesson plans for areas around an elementary school (recess, library, bike racks, bus, etc). Each lesson plan goes through expectations and how students should act in that area. You can easily change the expectations to fit your school. Lessons are taught at the beginning of school and also throughout the year as refresher lessons.
This is a great way to teach or reteach the school expectations at the beginning of the year! This passport includes 12 areas of our school where school expectations are taught. It also includes a cover page. Passports are intended to be printed out and cut in half and then stapled. You can easily change the expectations and clipart logo to fit your school.
We would teach one to two areas a day during the first few weeks of school. After each child showed that they could follow the expect
In this lesson students will read two books by the same author (books not included but a list of suggested books are included). They will answer questions about each book (RL 3.1) and then fill out a graphic organizer to compare and contrast the two books (RL 3.9). Student will then write a paragraph comparing and contrasting the two books. In this unit I have included the questions for each book as well as the graphic organizer. I have also include a list of books that could be used for thi
A PBIS must have! The voice thermometer lets kids know what level voice is expected in all areas of school. Customize it to fit for your school. At my school, every teacher has the thermometer posted in their room. We all use the same thermometer language and all students know that voices are at a 0 in the halls. GREAT VISUAL TOOL!
We use this referral form to referral students that need to be discussed with the PBIS team. A teacher can refer a student or the principal can give a teacher a form for a certain student based off of SWIS data.
These 30 lessons are the first set of Common Core Grammar Board Language (more lessons to come). There are 5 SmartBoard slides, with 5 daily questions, for each focus. Each week a new focus is applied but the lesson continue to spiral back and revisit concepts already taught. This is a great resource for teaching the new Common Core Standards! Weeks are aligned with Ready Common Core curriculum.
Weeks include:
Week 1 Focus: Nouns
Week 2 Focus: Pronouns
Week 3 Focus: Verbs
Week 4 Focus: Ad

PBIS Coupons- change the expectations to fit your school's expectations. We use the coupons when acknowledgement tickets are pulled. The coupons are all privileges rather than prizes. The students love them!
Every time a student takes an AR test they now have a place to record the information. I used this log in our parent communication binder. Each week parents were able to see how many tests their child took. It is also a good visual to see who hasn't taken very many test.
When we started PBIS we gave each teacher a binder with the materials needed to have a successful start to PBIS. This is the binder cover we used. You can change the expectations, teacher, and school name to fit your school.
One of our rewards for PBIS is extra recess. The attached document helps teachers manage who gets extra recess. The student takes the ticket to the yard duty for extra recess. This is a great way for the yard duties to keep track of who is getting extra recess.
