Kimberly Bliley

I have been a special educator for 13 years. I have taught middle school students with mild intellectual disabilities and learning disabilities. I'm currently teaching high school students with mild intellectual disabilities in grades 9 through post-graduation in a Transition to Employment program.

I like my students to be engaged and entertained. I want them to know I care about them as a person in addition to their success in the classroom.

I was honored to win the Virginia Lottery Super Teacher Award in 2012 after being nominated by one of my student's parents. I have been nominated for several other awards in my career, as well.

I have my post graduate certificate in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies from the University of Richmond. I have my masters in education: curriculum and instruction also from the University of Richmond. I have taken graduate coursework from Virginia Commonwealth University and University of Phoenix. I earned my teaching certificate from University of Richmond. My bachelor of science degree with majors in business/economics and Spnish is from Randolph-Macon College. I hold my Virginia graduate professional teaching license in the following areas: Administration and Supervision, Elementary Education PreK-6, Mental Retardation K-12, Special Education: General Curriculum K-12, and Spanish K-12.

I teach in Chesterfield County, Virginia, where I reside with my husband, two sons (21 months and 2 months), and two dogs. Busy family but I wouldn't change it for anything! <3
