mClass progress monitor Questions for Red Rocket Readers

Created by
Kimberly Eakin
These progress monitor questions align to the Red Rocket Reader books. After a student has read and answered the oral questions on mClass progress monitoring in a Red Rocket Reader I have him/her answer these written questions. I sometimes use them to model and teach how to answer written response and sometimes I use the same format as I use for Benchmark Testing (BOY, MOY, & EOY) where the student reads the text, answers the oral questions, then reads and answers the written portion completely

Experience

I'm in my 10th year teaching.

Teaching style

I love my students and they know it. I am firm, but kind. I enjoy quiet work time as well as the organized chaos of "station work".

Awards & shining teacher moments

My own education history

One year in at Ohio University, One year at Kent State University then finished my education (after a LONG break) at The University of Akron in Akron Ohio.

Additional biographical information

I initially went away to school for one year and decided to come home, get married, and attend the local university's branch campus. After a year I had to take a break. I enjoyed being a new bride and basically quit/failed school. I began working full time in banking, then went into the ministry as a church camp caretaker with my husband and finally became a stay at home mom. I returned to college full time at the age of 33 with 3 children (2, 4, & 6) and finished in 2 1/2 years. My family moved from Northeast Ohio to Western North Carolina for me to pursue a teaching position. I went the long way to get here, but I have experiences and memories I would never trade.
