This is a letter to parents explaining the 100th Day project. Specific instructions: 1. Collect 100 items that can stick on a poster (not too heavy!) 2. Glue items on a poster. Can make a creative design, such as the number “100” or another design of some sort. 3. Have child write his/her name on poster. 4. Bring poster to school!

This is a letter to send home telling families to send in pieces of environmental print. I collected all of the pieces and created a bulletin board for my writing center.

This is the handbook I give to families in the beginning of the year. It explains procedures and gives parents information about my kindergarten classroom.

I created this to use during the first week of school to help my sixth grade ELA students get to know one another. Students move around the room to find classmates who fit the descriptions on the sheet.

This is the weekly lesson plan template (Excel Spreadsheet) I fill in each week. The cells can be sized to fit your needs, and columns and rows can be added or deleted. It is a simple template to fill in, especially if your administrator requires a copy of your lesson plans each week. I use the miscellaneous column for standards and homework assignments.

This is a homework tic tac toe sheet for little ones who need to practice zipping, tying shoes, counting, saying abc's, etc. Each time they complete a task, they color a square. I would give a prize for filling in the whole grid.

Students can identify the different types of figurative language using examples from Zane & the Hurricane.

This is a rubric for emergent writers to help remind them to include capital letters, finger spaces, the date, punctuation, a good illustration, and at least two good sentences in their daily journal entry. Rubric includes words and pictures.

"I did not make smart choices today. I had to miss recess as a consequence of my behavior. This is what I did to get my card flipped to red: (space for student to draw picture/write a sentence) Tomorrow I will try to make smart choices. This is what I will do instead: (space for picture/sentence)."

This is an activity where students give clues about themselves by drawing pictures of their favorite things on the front, and others can guess who the mystery person is. Glue papers onto a large piece of construction paper to make a book. Open it up to figure out who it is and get to know things about each other! This is a great beginning of the year homework activity and bulletin board/hallway display. Also great for Open House.

A quick activity for an introduction to poetry, or a review sheet for the end of the unit!

This is a word document of winter words that I use in my word binder at my writing center. My students love to be able to use the word binder during center time as well as journal time. The binder is often floating around the room because they love it!

This is a set of assessments that would be perfect for progress monitoring. It correlates with the common core standards and includes activities such as identifying numbers, printing numerals, counting objects, determining greater and less, solving addition and subtraction problems, and story problems. The assessment instructions are printed on each assessment page.

This is the letter I send to parents to let them know when their child will be the "Star Student." There is one activity for each day of the week to make it a special week for the star student.

After my students fill up the marble jar for having whole-class good behavior, they earn a reward from this BINGO board. I am going to have a student choose a number from 1-4, and another student choose B, I, N, G, or O. The square chosen indicates the class reward.

The first day can be pretty chaotic, especially if parents are bringing in supplies. I place these signs in separate areas of my classroom so parents know where to place supplies. It really helps with the organization, and lets parents know what to label/not to label with their child's name.

This is a homework assignment I created when I taught 7th grade science. It requires students to find several types of simple machines throughout their home and answer questions about them.
