Teaching style
I'm a very hands-on learner, therefore, I'm a very hands-on teacher. I believe in having a great time while you teach and your students will have a great time learning. I love creating my themes around books and instill a love of reading in my students.
Awards & shining teacher moments
During my 5 years of teaching, I have been voted Teacher of the Year 2 times, by 2 different school faculties.
Teacher of the Year 2010-2011 and 2013-2014.
I have also served as the ELA Kindergarten Teacher Leader for our school.
My own education history
I received an Early Elementary Education (PK-3) degree from Louisiana Tech University in 2009.
Additional biographical information
My husband and I were recently blessed with our first child, Colton. We made the decision for me to stay home one year with our little man and I will return to my kindergarten classroom next year. This was such a difficult decision for us, because teaching is such a strong passion of mine. However, I am loving the extra time with our little guy and I wouldn't trade this year for anything.
