Students will estimate and use subtraction skills to help Oscar pick the best costume, divide Milkbones equally among classmates and use addition/multiplication to figure amount of money raised for the animal shelter.
I made this sheet to go along with the multiplication game Target 300 from Marilyn Burns. Students use their knowledge of the associative property and multiplying by multiples of 10 (range of 10-90) 3.NBT.3 to prove if an equation is true or false. They use the partial products strategy to prove it.
This Dr. Seuss themed activity addresses the Common Core standards 3.OA.1 and 3.OA.4 as students find different combinations of equal groups that total 64 objects.
Students practice their 3,6,7,8, and 9 multiplication facts to find the value of different holiday themed words. Also includes a blank document to allow for differentiation for those students who need to work on the easier facts. With just some minor tweaking on your part this sheet could also be used with younger students with simple addition...It's all in the numbers you choose to have your students work with! Also has students practice multiplying by 10.
These sheets are differentiated for making 10, 15, 20, 100 and 1000 using a part-part-whole box. Students solve for the missing part.
