I specialize in creating safe, supportive spaces where learning and personal growth go hand in hand. In addition to my clinical work, I have over 10 years of experience homeschooling and providing private tutoring for children in a variety of subjects and developmental stages. I also design and lead educational programs and facilitate group learning across age levels. My approach blends hands-on, nature-based learning with a deep understanding of child development, helping each child grow academically, socially, and emotionally.

Teaching style

My teaching style is hands-on, nature-based, and focused on real-world learning. I prioritize meaningful, active experiences that allow children to explore, build, create, and discover. Technology is used minimally so that students can stay engaged with their surroundings and learn through movement, play, and observation. I incorporate quality literature to support learning across subjects, encouraging discussion, connection, and curiosity. Outdoor time is a central part of my approach, as I believe nature supports not only academic development but also emotional well-being and self-regulation. My teaching is calm, nurturing, and centered around the individual needs of each child.

My own education history

I hold a Master of Science in Social Work from Columbia University, as well as two Bachelor of Science degrees in Anthropology and Social Welfare from the University at Albany. My educational path has given me a strong interdisciplinary foundation in human development, cultural understanding, and social systems, all of which shape my approach to teaching and supporting children.

Additional biographical information

I live in the mountains of New York with my three children, two teenagers, and a preschooler, where we spend much of our time exploring, learning, and growing together outdoors. I’ve been homeschooling for over a decade, creating child-centered, nature-based learning experiences that nurture curiosity, imagination, and emotional well-being. I understand both the joys and the challenges of homeschooling, especially when supporting children who benefit from a hands-on, more responsive approach to learning. The materials in my store are thoughtfully designed to support the whole child. They encourage calm, creativity, confidence, and a meaningful connection with the natural world. Whether you’re just beginning your homeschool journey or have years of experience, I hope these resources bring inspiration, ease, and joy to your days.
