This is a 3-page rubric to be used to evaluate students' final research papers. The first section outlines how many points each of the various elements (title page, note cards, etc.) are worth while the bottom section provides descriptors for expected writing traits to be scored on a scale of 1-4. Additional space is provided at the bottom for other comments and questions you may have for your student.
2 pre test sheets per page and 2 post test sheets per page. Can be printed double-sided and then cut down the middle so the pre & post tests are on the front and back. Students can quickly and easily see their improvement from one test to the next.
After students write a draft of their research papers, have them give this feedback form to a peer, a parent, and/or a teacher to gain valuable feedback and suggestions about ways in which to improve their organization, mechanics, ideas/content, and word choice. This chart provides the evaluator a place to mark if the current level of work is strong, average, or needs work along with a place to make specific comments. This is a missing poster created for the book "From the Mixed-Up Files of Mrs. Basil E. Frankweiler". Students create a poster for each missing child that the parents or the police may have posted. The students draw a picture of the missing child, last known location, give a physical description of him/her, and provide contact information if missing child is seen.

This is a 2-page document that can be used with any novel. Using the idea of literature circle roles, this document has sections for vocabulary, connections, summary, predictions, questions, and visualizing all in one. This is meant for one student to complete so all students are accountable for the same information.
This poster can be posted to help students remember to check their writing for things such as capitalization, spelling, complete sentences, etc. using the acronym SCOPE.
This document helps students brainstorm adjectives that describe a central topic. They can then use these adjectives to create Adj+N sentences or N+V+Adj sentences.
This is a 2-page document to use with either two books or two articles on the same topic. Students read both and take notes, then use their notes to write a summary including important details from both sources.
Designed for a unit about animals, this worksheet has a list of animals and asks students to sort whether each animal belongs in the zoo, on a farm, or could be found in both places.
These mini posters/labels can be used for a writing process display. In my own room, I have these mounted in order and then a page underneath showing an example of each step of the process.
