NGSS MS-LS1-4 Pollination and Animal Behaviors
This is a meant as a mini lecture for students. The PowerPoint includes the difference between sexual and asexual reproduction, animal behaviors and actions that may influence reproduction, animal actions that may influence plant reproduction and a short review of the parts of a flower. This PowerPoint is filled with colorful images that will be sure to grab your students' attention. In addition to the slides I've shown clips from the Planet Earth series (not included).

Electromagnet Lab
This is a short lab meant for one 80 minute block period. Students follow the Engineer Design Process as they work in groups to create an electromagnet. Background information (notes and hands on experiences with magnets/electricity) in highly encouraged before beginning this lab. I try to allow the students to explore the classroom with magnets and test a Van Der Graaf Generator. Students take notes prior to the lab, but it is to familiarize them with the terminology.

Black History Month: Periodic Table Template
Students will research a scientist or inventor for Black History Month. They can concentrate on their achievements, accomplishments, general information of their life, etc. Students will then add their information into the Google Slide using the template and the teacher example.

Basic Documentary Worksheet
This worksheet was designed to have students fill in their thoughts and views before, during and after viewing a video or documentary. You can adjust the fonts or wording of the questions as you see fit. This was something that I needed in a pinch for my own classes.

Engineer Design Process Interactive Notebook Activity
This product was created with my classes in mind. This is the first time I am trying INBs and would love some feedback! Students will cut out the "Steps" boxes as well as the "Description" boxes. They will glue them together (forming a type of flap) and glue the back of the flap down into their notebooks. I'm going to have a short review on the Engineer Design Process (something they covered last year) and use this to reinforce the lesson.

NGSS MS-PS1-2 Intro to Chemical and Physical Reactions
This is a basic PPT used for a 7th grade class. We discuss the differences between chemical/physical properties, chemical/physical reactions/changes, and we discuss the difference between endothermic and exothermic reactions. We use the Prentice Hall Text Series "Science Explorers: Chemical Interactions" for this unit.

Hierarchy of Cell Organization Moving Notes
Students will move from station to station copying down the bolded notes and questions/tasks on each card. I've used the moving stations after discussing specialized cells with my students.

Photosynthesis and Respiration PowerPoint
Used as a mini lecture following a modeling lab. I try to get my students to take their own notes instead of printing everything out for them. The parts of this presentation that are bolded are indicators that my students should copy down the important material. This is a very basic understanding of the processes of photosynthesis and respiration as I wanted the students to make their own judgements/find their own conclusions on the differences and similarities of the two.

I am a New Jersey Science teacher in a Title 1 District. I teach a very diverse group of students every year and I love every moment of it.
Teaching style
From the first day of school I set up my procedures and rules. I am in a Title I District and for a lot of my students, English is not their first language. I find that trust and respect are hard to come by, but once you've built a strong relationship with the students, the walls come down. I try to make my room a safe environment (like most teachers), but I also show the students it's okay to have fun. We joke around, they teach me the current dance crazes (as rewards), I learn their native language and we have a level of respect for each other. I am not their friend, but they know that can come to me with anything.
My own education history
I graduated from Brookdale Community College, transferred to and from Georgian Court University, and Graduated with my B.A. from Kean University.
