About the store
As a classroom teacher in a culturally diverse elementary school for the past 10 years, I have finally taken my colleagues' advice. The resources I have created for my students over the years are now available to others. My experience with English Language Learners has opened my mind to how children learn a second language. It became increasing obvious that my creative abilities were going to be essential in developing memorable lessons.

Included are two timers designed to be used one after the other. 1.) Silent Reading Timer (15 minutes): gives a visual indication of time elapsing during reading time. Included are reminders to fill in their reading log and stay focus during the last few moments. 2.) Round Robin Share Time (2 minutes): gives students 30 seconds each to share their thoughts on the pages they have read. Again, there are visual indicators for the speakers to know when to share and when to wrap up their thoughts

Experience

As a classroom teacher in a culturally diverse elementary school for the past 10 years, I have finally taken my colleagues' advice. The resources I have created for my students over the years are now available to others. My experience with English Language Learners has opened my mind to how children learn a second language. Teaching style

Students are naturally curious and open to learning when their interests are piqued. Through visuals, discussions, movements, and good literature, students are exposed to information in a meaningful way. My teaching style encourages students to make connections to their own lives and see into the thinking of others. I accomplish this through student-led discussions, critics, and projects. Empowering students to find their voice while listening to others' points of view is essential in creating a positive environment.
