Students create an electronic project (PowerPoint, Wikispace, etc.) about a famous mathematician or culture that had an impact on math. This is a cross-curricula project that ties in math, ELA, social studies, and library science.
The students will create a collage that gives information through the use of numbers. The students will have to write their numbers in equation format. For example: 2(10+2) is my birthday. This is a great beginning of the year project for students.
