I taught 7th Grade English for 4 years in Tuscaloosa County Alabama. I then spent 4 years at Monrovia Middle School in Huntsville, AL where I taught 7th & 8th grade English & Literature (taught as separate courses at MMS), Journalism, and Computer Technology.
I moved to Florence & taught 7th and 8th grade English another year before a new opportunity arose. I am currently an Instructional Partner in Florence City Schools. This is my fourth year in this role outside of the regular classroom, working with adults and professional learning.

The Sign of the Beaver Novel Test
The Sign of the Beaver Novel Test: This is a 30-question test including multiple choice, matching, fill in the blank, and short answer questions. It includes various question types for vocabulary words as well as characters and sequence of events. The test covers the first part of the novel. It could probably be used as a study guide or adapted/incorporated to a more comprehensive test. Please provide feed back. Thanks, Krissy Malone.

Pass to Nurse's Office
Pass to the nurse's office. Four passes per sheet. Includes student name, date, time leaving class, checklist of reasons for visiting the nurse, checklist for nurse to mark "actions taken" (called home/provided meds/checked temp), place for nurse to write the time student left, and nurse's signature.
I worked at one middle school where passes like this were provided for teachers, but have since moved and had no pre-printed passes available, so I just made one based on what I remembered! Thanks

CHRISTMAS SONG PROJECT
This project allows students to work individually or as a group to research the history of a "Christmas" (or holiday) song of their choice. Project requirements and rubric are included on the document. Students will research the song, type the lyrics or put them into a PowerPoint, and present orally by singing, dramatic reading, or instrumental performance. This is an Excel file/workbook with seven tabs created to be saved and or printed as "gradebook" pages. Teachers can copy and paste student names from other electronic rosters or type in the names. Encyclopedia Brown Mystery Chart
This chart is for use with the ENCYCLOPEDIA BROWN books by Donald J. Sobol. Students complete the chart for which mystery they are reading out of any of the ENCYCLOPEDIA BROWN books. Student Reward Tickets/Homework Passes
Twenty-one tickets to a page that can be used as reward tickets for students or homework passes. Ticket has teacher's name, spaces for student names, date, and class. Also has an apple graphic. Teacher can write reason for reward on back of ticket or use as homework pass. 2 pages--page one includes instructions for quickly changing the teachers name on ALL tickets at once using "find & replace" feature in MS Word. One Page Weekly Lesson Plan Chart
One page chart for filling in the necessary information to be included in a lesson plan. Hall, Nurse, and Bathroom Passes
I print these passes, cut them out, and insert into I.D. badge holders that can be placed on lanyards or badge clips for students to wear when they leave the classroom. They look great printed in color! I incorporate this system with students signing in and out on a sheet that remains in the classroom and they just take the ID badge with them.
The ones on the third page aren't lined up side-by-side, but when printed, you can cut out the ones you need! Sorry for the formatting issues with that pa

Experience

Teaching style
I am passionate about technology in education and strive to promote tech-rich lessons and activities for my students. I want my students to feel comfortable expressing themselves in my classroom, so I also strive to achieve a balance of a laid-back yet structured classroom atmosphere.
