A set of slides reviewing some middle school science 6-8 standards in preparation for the Virginia state test (SOL). Students will follow through the slides by clicking on the students they want to help first. On their slides are questions to answer about each topic. Sweet and to the point.

This is a completely new set of items than Version 1 -- these can be used as is or added together to make a larger game

Are you from Pittsburgh? It's fun to share part of your home culture with students when you have time to play! Each slide gives a slang word from Pittsburgh (pittsburghese), a sentence, and then the answer to what it means. Can easily just play the slides along with the students as it is ready to go for use!

6 bonds where students label as ionic or covalent, organic or inorganic. Once finished, they will count atoms of the 6 examples -- reminders are included on the basics so it could be a review or students trying it out on their own to begin it

Remember the game show Password? Students will pick a word from a hat/bowl from the list provided (link on the last slide). They must give their partner one word clue to get them to say the word they chose. There is a video clip in the beginning to show you how to play and as example. Follows 8th Grade Science SOL Standards

Something simple I do before teaching waves -- get them to see similarities and differences in different types of waves in their lives (hair, ocean, heat, drawn, light, hand wave, etc.) and define. I usually have kids write on the board or something for examples. Something students could easily do as they come in the room before you start talking about waves.

Just something to use while students watch Modern Marvels Nuclear Tech episode 2004 - history channel. ask prior knowledge, facts during episode, explanation, and word search

Each group will become an expert on one wave and make a slide then students may gallery walk or present - pretty basic but super easy to have them do

dice rolling game where you draw what you roll according to the sheet - in the end you get a beautiful spring garden. some like to do this as a race to see who can roll all 6 numbers and draw the fastest
