Awards & shining teacher moments
Selected and recognized by Teacher's Pay Teachers as their Featured Teacher the week of 10/28/2012. Listed as one if TPT's 100 best selling teacher authors. My product "Guided Reading Teacher's Guide" was also listed the by TPT as one of the 100 best sold products.
I Graduated from University Michigan School of Education with Honors. In 2009 I was nominated by head of Special Education Department at Governors State University for student publishing honor for graduate thesis work.
In my school district my classroom has been designated a model classroom for best practices in guided reading, learning centers, differentiated instruction and cooperative learning. My self-developed math wall and daily math meeting were shared at all grade levels throughout the district.
I was observed by experienced teachers district wide on a yearly basis in addition to being selected by District Mentor as an observation classroom for incoming first year teachers. I was selected as the teacher representative to sit on RTI/Interventions Solutions Team and was also asked to be on School Improvement Team for 8 consecutive years. I was videotaped numerous times to show best practices in reading, centers and balanced literacy. Through Donor's Choose I wrote 14 successfully funded proposals for student materials for my classroom.
