The plant and animal unit has been edited to add some fun and interesting activities as well as taking out unnecessary pieces of the curriculum that our busy day doesn't allow time for. This is done to compact the unit in order to fit it into 20 minute lessons for 4 days per week. This unit has 25 days worth of lesson plans and slides. This product has lesson plans with links to new slides for each lesson as well as a link to a slide deck with all lesson slides in one. Lessons are in Google Docs

Copy double sided to have a sight word book for the second 50 Fry Words. Each page has the word in bubble letters to color (the color key is on the cover), and a simple sentence to read and highlight the word.

Make sheets for kids by putting the ABC's on one side and the vowels on the other side. This sheet can be used with the Jack Hartman's Shake Rattle and Read CD with tracks 4 & 5. Singing and practicing daily at the beginning of the year will teach kids letters, sounds, and vowels.
