About the store
I work in a severe special education preschool classroom, supporting young learners with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)—many of whom are non-verbal or emerging communicators. My classroom is structured, nurturing, and fully adapted to meet each student’s unique sensory, communication, and behavioral needs. Every day, I use a combination of visual supports, adaptive tools, interactive books, and hands-on learning to help my students develop early academic skills, independence, and functional communication. My goal is to create a safe, joyful, and inclusive environment where every child feels seen, supported, and celebrated—regardless of how they communicate. Working with these incredible learners is both challenging and deeply rewarding. Their growth—big or small—is at the heart of everything I do.

Experience

Teaching style

In my severe special education preschool classroom, I use a highly structured, multi-sensory teaching style tailored to meet the needs of my non-verbal students with autism. My approach blends visual supports, Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies, interactive songs, and adaptive books to promote communication, engagement, and independence. Every activity is broken down into clear, visual steps and reinforced through repetition, music, and movement. I believe learning should be hands-on, joyful, and accessible—so I adapt every lesson to fit each child’s unique learning style and developmental level. My classroom is built on patience, predictability, and positivity.
