This is a cross curricular art project for 8th grade math students. Students are introduced to who Theodorus was and asked to do a quick search of where we see his wheel in the world around them. They are then instructed on how to create their own. When they have finished constructing their Wheel of Theodorus they are asked to creatively and colorfully turn it "into" something. Examples are given. After their Wheel of Theodorus is complete, students are then asked to measure all the sides lengt
In this creative math project, students will design a fall, Halloween, or Thanksgiving-themed picture using only straight lines on graph paper. Each line will be represented by a linear equation, giving students the opportunity to apply their understanding of slope-intercept, point-slope and linear relationships in a hands-on, artistic way. Students will start by sketching a design, then transfer it to graph paper with clearly marked axes. They will use rulers to draw precise line segments
This Chapter Test assesses students' knowledge of solving linear equations, absolute value equations and literal equations (multi-variable equations). A full answer key is provided with worked out step-by-step solutions. This test goes along with my algebra 1 chapter 1 video lesson series but can be used as a stand alone.
