Experience

I help busy social studies teachers save time and keep students engaged with ready-to-use bell ringers, stations, and activities. I’m Kyle, a longtime teacher now serving as an Instructional Coach. I know what it’s like to juggle lesson planning, classroom management, and meaningful student engagement every day. That’s why I create resources that are flexible, practical, and classroom-tested. My resources are designed to build strong routines while supporting historical thinking and literacy skills. Whether you're looking for daily bell ringers, collaborative learning stations, or rich primary source activities, my goal is to help you teach confidently and reclaim your time.

Teaching style

My classroom was all about structure, clarity, and student engagement. I relied on daily bell ringers to set the tone, used learning stations to promote collaboration, and incorporated primary sources, simulations, and authentic literacy tasks to bring history to life. The goal? Help students think critically while giving teachers a break from reinventing the wheel.

Awards & shining teacher moments

2017 Colorado Teacher of the Year for Innovation in Financial Education Award – Presented by Attorney General Cynthia Coffman for my work in promoting authentic financial literacy instruction in Colorado. One of my proudest moments was seeing my students take ownership of their learning during a full-day historical simulation on the Trans-Saharan Trade routes — they didn’t even realize they were doing rigorous thinking because they were so engaged. These types of activities and simulations became my personal favorite!

My own education history

I hold a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Adams State University and an Educational Specialist Degree from the University of Northern Colorado. My focus has always been designing curriculum that works — not just on paper, but in real classrooms with real students.

Additional biographical information

I live in Colorado with my wife and three kids and currently serve as a Dean of Students at a K–8 school. When I’m not creating classroom resources or chasing my kids around, I enjoy hiking, CrossFit, and helping other educators build strong, student-centered learning environments.
