A significant part of the antiwar movement during the Vietnam War was songs that were created. This assignment has links to four songs on YouTube, links to articles explaining the songs, and questions that will help students understand the songs and the antiwar movement. The songs and questions cover the draft, PTSD, and Kent State.

This is a Bill of RIghts matching quiz using google forms. It lists the rights and the students need to match it with the correct amendment.

This assignment has the students analyze the 13th, 14th, and 15th Amendments. It gives simplified versions of the amendments. The students will then analyze documents to see how these amendments were undermined.

In this lesson, students will answer questions that will help to interpret the meaning and history of the New Colossus poem written by Emma Lazarus on the Statue of Liberty. Once they understand the message of the poem students will research the different U.S. immigration acts and policies. Then students will determine if the United States laws and policies match up with the message and meaning of the poem.

There are six U.S. propaganda posters from WWI. Students have to analyze and answer questions on the posters. There are 2-3 questions per poster.

In this lesson, the students will be analyzing The Bottle which was a picture book that was created to show the dangers of alcohol. The students analyze the pictures and then create a short story that will help them to understand methods that were being used to ban alcohol.

This Civil Rights Project is a group research project. Each group will 2 important events, 1 Civil Rights leader, and 1 important Civil Rights Law. The groups will research and create a Google Slide/PowerPoint presentation. The groups will then teach the class on their topics. This project gets the students more involved in their own education and will help to build more connections to the Civil Rights Movement.

This activity involves comparing and contrasting 2 poems by Langston Hughes. The activity will also have the students discuss the difficulties African Americans were facing and overcoming obstacles during the Harlem Renaissance.

An easy way to help students understand the Bill of Rights. One side of the graphic organizer has the exact words from the constitution and the other side allows the students to put the amendment in their own words to help them understand the meaning. The slides will help guide the students through the Bill of Rights

This is a current event assignment that has students write a two-paragraph essay. Students have to summarize an article and write a reaction to the article. It shows students how the should be formatting there current event essay as well.
