Hi, I'm Kylee!
I've been teaching 4th grade Reading Language Arts and Social Studies for 14 years in a small rural school, where I'm the only teacher in my grade and subject. That means when a resource doesn't exist, I create it! Over the years, I've developed materials that are practical, time-saving, and designed to meet the real needs of my students.
Many of my resources were inspired by gaps I noticed in Bluebonnet Learning (formerly Amplify), where support materials were limited or too time-consuming to grade. My goal is to offer meaningful alternatives that are easier to use, more flexible, and better aligned with the way real classrooms run. Whether you are looking to differentiate instruction, simplify your grading, or just try something new, I hope my resources make your teaching life a little easier.

This resource is great for teachers who would like to include more STAAR prep within the Bluebonnet Learning Unit 3 lessons. Included with the SCR prompt is an alternative option for students who need more support (sentence stems).

Bluebonnet Learning Grade4 Unit3 Excerpt 6 Comprehension Quiz (includes SUMMARY)
This resource includes comprehension questions for Excerpt 6 which is introduced in Lesson 6 & reread in Lesson 7. Lesson 7's focus is on writing a summary with practice for Excerpt 6 (together) and Excerpt 7 (independently). After students practice writing their own summary, teachers can then use the summary question (#1) with multiple choice options to walk students through test taking strategies for summary. You may also choose to use this entire assignment as a grade.

This alternative assignment to AP 2.1 provides an example response to AP 1.3 along with an example on revising the response. Students will then use the model to revise another provided response for clarity and word choice.

This handout provides three options for you to choose from. Option 1 includes 2 blank pages that will allow students to identify up to 6 cause and effect events from the text. I added more spaces to allow whole group practice, small group practice, and independent practice. Option 2 is great for students who need more support. It also works well as a time saver. Option 3 is a blank organizer that can be printed and used for any text. I also have a digital version of Options 1 and 2.
