La Classe à Part

As a dedicated graduate of the French immersion system and part of the team that grades PATs for grade 9 French immersion students in Alberta, I am committed to nurturing a passion for the French language and culture in my students. With five years of teaching experience across grades 7-9, I design engaging resources that inspire learners in FLA, ÉS, and ELA, drawing on my experience with the neurolinguistic approach to enhance language acquisition and understanding.

Affectionately known as "The Queen of Tough Love" by both students and colleagues, I’ve built a reputation that extends beyond the walls of my classroom. From organizing school trips to Quebec, Montreal, and Ottawa, to introducing after-school dances and launching the school newspaper, as well as starting the Dungeons and Dragons Club and coaching basketball, soccer, and badminton, I believe in fostering meaningful relationships with my students. I understand that students need and respect firm but reasonable boundaries. My legacy at school goes beyond my current students; their siblings eagerly anticipate joining my class. They can trust me on both a personal and educational level, and I’m grateful for the opportunity to connect with them outside the classroom, enriching their educational journey.

I earned my degree from Campus St. Jean at the University of Alberta, where I honed my skills in French language education. My year living in Montreal exposed me to invaluable cultural experiences that go beyond what is typically offered in Alberta's immersion classrooms, further enriching my understanding of the language and its context.

As the only teacher in my family, I take pride in actively preserving our French heritage. I understand the importance of language in shaping identity and strive to make learning a joyful and enriching experience for my students.
