This research project was designed to wrap up semester one material through a National Park of the student's choice. This project will include topics from Units 1-4 of the APES curriculum. My students enjoyed getting a tour of a variety of National Parks during these presentations as well as a review of material. Preparation for chemistry midterm exam. This review covers properties of matter, significant figures, atomic structure, electron configuration and some periodic trend material. This file is editable to suit the needs of your classroom. This review was used in a chemistry college prep classroom first semester.

This activity was designed for students to complete upon returning from Christmas break after having completed one semester of high school chemistry. Students can complete this activity in pairs or independently. Students have the opportunity to choose 3 review activities to complete to review concepts from first semester.

This project was created to allow students to choose a chemical they are interested in researching and apply some of the main concepts from the semester to their chosen chemical. Its a great way to do a research project in first semester chemistry that aligns with the concepts covered in the content of the course. I use this as a way for students to investigate what cities are doing to increase their sustainability. After this activity, I have the students get into groups and design their own sustainable city. This product is way for students to become exposed to the variety of solutions that are out there and being used by sustain-ably conscientious cities.

This product covers 3 main objectives. After introducing/review this with students, they should be able to: Describe different levels of biodiversity, how biodiversity is measured, and the environmental benefits of biodiversity.Describe how natural selection shapes biodiversity and species distributions.Use the concept of ecosystem services to describe how diverse, functioning ecosystems benefit human well-being.
