Cupcake Kids Ten Frame Math Center

This is my Cupcake Kids Ten Frames for Numbers 1-20. This project was designed with the Pre-K, Transitional Kindergarten, and Kindergarten Students in mind. About the store

Experience

I have worked in the public school system for 25+ years. I have served in many positions and at various grade levels. I have taught Transitional Kindergarten, First Grade, Second grade, Third Grade, and Fifth Grade. As well as teaching in the classroom, I served as a Reading Recovery Teacher for 6 years, taught reading intervention, worked in administrative positions, and as a site principal.

Teaching style

I work hard to know my standards, but more importantly I have always worked hard to know my students. I have always believed in meeting students at the door, finding out who they are, and then planning out how I am going to take them where they need to go. I truly believe in adjusting my teaching and curriculum development to meet the needs of students.

Awards & shining teacher moments

I have had the honor and privilege of being a Program Manager at a California Distinguished School. I was also fortunate to serve as Principal at a school who received the Title I Achievement Award twice while I was there.

My own education history

I am a graduate of Fresno Pacific University. I earned my B.A., Teaching Credential, and M.A. at this excellent institution. I also earned my Administrative Credential when I finished my M.A. program.

Additional biographical information

I had a wonderful opportunity to pilot a Transitional Kindergarten Program and write curriculum for the program for two years. I was also privileged this last four years to be able to do hands on research and write curriculum in a Kindergarten classroom with a high percentage of EL students. I spent every day the first two weeks of school working in the classroom to get to know the students. I observed their needs and have written curriculum to meet the needs I observed. I volunteered in the classroom at least once a week to gain feedback from the teacher and students, and to experience on my own, how the curriculum I am developing is working.
