This is a one slide sort which provides practice for students to organize the 'weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation' with the results of that weakness and to identify where in the U.S. Constitution that weakness was fixed. It is completely editable. The students complete the sort by moving the boxes around into the correct 'group'. The same activity I used to do with sorting cards, however, digitally to keep them from 'handling' paper sort cards.
This quick activity will provide practice for students to identify phrases that might be said by Thomas Paine. They will sort the phrases into 'I'd say that' and 'I'd never say that' groups. It's not fancy, but a quick and easy way to see if the students understand Thomas Paine's perspective on what the colonists should do. The file comes to you 'done' so you can edit it as needed and shuffle the tiles before sharing with the students.
