Experience

For nearly fourteen years, I've cultivated a vibrant classroom experience for students in China. From the internationally recognized IGCSE and IB English B programs to the targeted IELTS preparation course, my passion for English language education has spanned a diverse range of curriculums. I thrive on crafting engaging resources that ignite a love for learning in my students. My focus is three-fold: empowering them with a rich vocabulary, nurturing their spoken English fluency, and fostering a calm, productive environment where each student can blossom.

Teaching style

In my classroom, the thrill of discovery takes center stage. I believe deeply in student-centered learning, where active participation is the key to unlocking knowledge. Through engaging activities and discussions, I guide students on a journey of exploration, fostering a love for learning that transcends the textbook. This collaborative atmosphere fosters not just fluency in English, but a genuine enjoyment of being in class and interacting with peers – a place where everyone feels comfortable expanding their horizons.

My own education history

My academic journey in education has been fueled by a passion for continuous learning and a desire to be the best possible teacher for my students. This foundation began with a strong grounding in the English language and literature, earned through a Bachelor's and Master's degree. To further specialize in crafting effective instruction, I pursued a Certificate in English Language Teaching to Adults (CELTA) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE). Most recently, I expanded my skillset with a Master of Science in Psychology, providing valuable insights into student motivation and learning styles. This dedication to lifelong learning perfectly embodies my teaching philosophy: "to teach and have my students learn at all times." It's through constant personal growth that I remain flexible, adaptable, and equipped to reach every student who walks through my classroom door.
