My students complete a reflection sheet on Friday afternoons. This is a great way for them to think about their strengths and what they can work on the following week. It's also a great activity for substitutes!

I use this poster to remind students that every choice they make is important. I use this in my elementary classroom, but it could work for any age group.
The poster is 11" x 17" so it is visible all around the classroom.
Complete your International Baccalaureate classroom with posters for each component of the program:
- Learner Profile (10 posters + title)*
- Attitudes (12 posters + title)
- Key Concepts (8 posters + title)
- Transdisciplinary Skills (5 posters + title)
- Transdisciplinary Themes (6 posters + title)
This set includes 46 posters that fit on 8.5" x 11" paper. I like to print each component on a different color paper so they can be easily grouped together on bulletin boards.

My students love fact family houses! These cute houses really help them understand how addition and subtraction are inverse operations. This activity is done after we have introduced fact triangles, so they understand that the roof is the triangle that contains the three numbers. We learn that families live together, and they don't let strangers into their houses. When students correctly complete the houses, they color them and we display a fact family neighborhood in the hallway.

I frame these posters and write the daily objectives with dry-erase markers each day. You could also laminate them, or print new ones for each week. It is so helpful to be able to refer to the objectives throughout the lesson to keep myself and my students accountable for the learning. My students also love walking in each morning and seeing exactly what we will be learning that day.

I use these IB Key Concepts as a visual aid to remind students of the unit focus. We choose 2-3 concepts to inquire into for each unit, which drive the direction of learning. These posters help students to use the IB academic vocabulary in their discussions.
This is a set of all 12 IB PYP attitudes. The kid-friendly (K-12) descriptions will help your students learn and use them.
In my classroom, I cut out the circles and laminated them. When a student sees another student showing an attitude in a positive way, they move that student's clip to the circle on the wall. The kids love the hands-on use, so they call each other out frequently! It has really helped them to understand the PYP program in terms of character-building.

As part of the IB PYP program, students keep a portfolio of their best work that travels with them throughout elementary school. We use 3-inch binders with this cover to make them consistent throughout the school. The design reminds students of the six units of inquiry and that we are working to become global citizens.
I use these in my elementary classroom as a simple visual to remind students of appropriate voice levels. I cut and laminate each card, then clip the proper one onto the board during an activity.

I also use hand signals to show on a scale of 0-4 where the noise should be. The combination of visuals and hand signals really helps my students to stay on task!

My students participated in an informal reading club over the summer. To give them recognition for their work, I printed cute certificates to hand out on the first day of school. These would be great to encourage readers K-5.
