This document is a simple Interpretive Listening activity using a Spanish weather report on Hurricane Ian (September 2022). The questions are geared to the Novice Level but can be adapted for more advanced students. Students should have a previous knowledge of weather vocabulary, numbers, and cognates. An answer key and a possible rubric are included.

The text for this activity is a page from an authentic calendar in Spanish. The activity is best suited for students at a Novice Low level who are learning dates (months, days of the week) but could also be used for a quick review activity. This activity is primarily an Interpretive Reading activity but also includes a short dialogue for Interpersonal Speaking and a possible Presentational Writing evaluation (for a Novice learner). An answer key is included for the Interpretive Reading section.
