I created Lanie’s Little Learners in memory of my mother Elaine whose nickname growing up was Lanie. She was an early childhood educator, teaching Pre-K for years. She was always encouraging me to pursue my own interest such as a BFA, but she gently hinted at teaching as an alternate career. If she could see me now, I know she would have an, “I told you so,” smile on her face :-)

My Feelings Activity Mats
Playdoh Mats or Drawing Cards: The packet contains four blank faces for young children to use playdoh to build how they feel faces. The mats can also be used with a dry erase marker and have the students draw how they feel. I am using the mats in my Safe Place area based on Conscious Discipline to encourage children to identify how they feel. Behavior Clip Chart Management Toolkit {Ice Cream Theme}
Ice Cream Theme Behavior Management Toolkit
The toolkit contains useful positive behavior reinforcement resources. The chart gives the students a visual to help them reinforce positive behavior in the classroom. Students’ names are attached to clothespins and then clipped onto the chart. As their behavior improves (or worse) they move their clip up (or down) on the chart. It rewards students for good choices and allows them to redeem themselves after making poor choices.
