In this packet, I have included 10 short stories with related questions. Each passage describes details of an event happening. The students use the clues from the text to identify the main idea of the story. There are additional related questions for the students to answer. I have included an answer key for each passage.

Here is an inference passage worksheet. The students read the paragraph and find clues about what is happening. They use those clues to answer the questions provided. Here is a single sample of what I have created. If you like this one, feel free to find and purchase 9 more in my store.

Henry & Mudge and the Starry Night! I created this mini literature study to help support some of the Common Core Reading Literature standards. This literature study helps students make text-to-self connections, find key words in the story, help students with retell through pictures, and analyzing character response.

Back to School Fun! Students can get to know their peers by asking them how many letters are in their name. Students can use the data they collected to graph the data! I usually do this activity when reading Kevin Henkes' book Chrysanthemum.

Students are learning to count by fives starting from 100-1,000. I have created this activity to help them cut out the numbers and paste them in the correct order. There are 9 different activities: 100-200, 200-300, etc.

The Common Core asks students to skip count by 5s from 0-1,000. My students were having difficulties counting by fives once the got to 3-digit numbers, so I created these fun skip counting puzzles/mazes. The puzzle tells the student where to start and the student needs to find their way through the maze! Enjoy 12 different mazes starting from 0-1,000 to help your students with their skip counting!

This interactive activity allows students to look at a number line and find several other fractions that are equivalent to the fractions listed on the line. Once the find equivalent fractions, they cut and paste the correct fraction into the given squares provided.

Since I didn't have math curriculum to support the new Common Core State Standards, I created this I CAN math rubric. I assess my students individually and use a highlighter to show their proficiency in the standard. This rubric is a great communication tool for parents and students. It includes all of the CCSS math standards for first grade. I have organized them according to what I think is from basic to advance. Help your students skip count by 2s when counting 3-digit numbers. These mazes include 10 pages helping students skip count by 2s from 0-1,000. Students navigate through the maze from start to finish. Numbers jump vertical and horizontal. There are no patterns that do diagonal.

These mazes were created to help my students improve their counting by tens. In these mazes, students will have to count by 10s from 1-1,000. The mazes tell the students where the start is. Here is a simple Expository Graphic Organizer to help students when reading non-fiction stories. This graphic organizer asks students to write the main idea of the story, list six details from the story, and end with a conclusion sentence. Great for reading groups or whole group teaching.
