🌿 Last Keystone Learning | Curriculum Rooted in Purpose Welcome! I’m Sherri, a veteran educator with 17 years of classroom experience spanning transitional kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, and online K–3 instruction. With a Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction and a capstone focused on reading intervention, my work is grounded in research-based practice and a deep belief in the power of literacy. At Last Keystone Learning, I design high-quality, Common Core-aligned resources to support foundational reading skills—especially fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary development. Each passage and activity is crafted with the needs of real students in mind, shaped by years of classroom experience and a passion for reaching struggling readers. While my farm inspires many of the characters and settings in my materials, the heart of my work is grounded in professional curriculum design. My goal is to nurture the love of learning through meaningful, effective instruction that empowers both students and teachers. Whether you're a classroom teacher, reading interventionist, or homeschooling parent—I’m glad you’re here.

Teaching style

My teaching style is rooted in nurturing a love of learning through meaningful, research-based instruction. I use rich literature, engaging themes, and explicit reading strategies to support all learners—especially in the areas of fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. I believe in creating an empowering, supportive environment where students take ownership of their learning and feel confident and capable as readers. My goal is always to spark curiosity, build confidence, and help every child grow as a lifelong learner.

Awards & shining teacher moments

Over the years, I’ve been honored to mentor new teachers and serve on school leadership teams. One of my proudest moments was supporting struggling readers in my intervention group as they met—or even exceeded—grade-level benchmarks. During the shift to online learning, I helped bridge instruction and engagement in new ways, reinforcing my belief that strong relationships and thoughtful, small-group teaching can truly transform learning.

My own education history

Additional biographical information

From the misty middle of Sound and summit in the Pacific Northwest, I create curriculum for Last Keystone Learning alongside goats, chickens, and a few curious farm dogs. Our small farm often finds its way into the stories I write—whether it’s a muddy mystery or a lazy afternoon in the pasture. Every resource is crafted with heart, rooted in years of classroom experience and a love for helping young readers grow.
