About the store
Started my teaching career 15 years ago, in NYC! Spent my classroom teacher time in grades 1st through 5th as the General Education Teacher and as the Special Education teacher (depending on the grade, model, etc.!). Guided Reading is my favorite! Small group instruction, ALWAYS! Fast forward (took a break from NYC, raising 3 amazing kiddos and still on my educational journey!) I love creating new, engaging curriculum. My passion has evolved into learning, leading and supporting instruction through collaborating with teachers and staff to enhance instructional practices so we are able to improve student achievement through differentiation, relationships, and meaningful instruction.

Experience

Started my teaching career 15 years ago, in NYC! Spent my classroom teacher time in grades 1st through 5th as the General Education Teacher and as the Special Education teacher (depending on the grade, model, etc.!). Guided Reading is my favorite! Teaching style

I have been fortunate to always work in a co-teaching model classroom. I believe two is always better than one! Learning from others and working together to meet the needs of all students is the key to success. I love working in small groups, learning centers, 1:1 and having student's needs drive the instructional model and practice. Students are always changing so the way we teach needs to be consistently changing.

My own education history

My undergraduate degree is from Rollins College where I studied Elementary Education (K-6) with a concentration in Literacy Instruction. I also completed a minor in Spanish Language and Cultural Studies. Masters degree in Special Education with a concentration in learning and behavioral disabilities. Masters in Educational Leadership.
