These cards are designed as an intoduction activity to seat the students. I typically use them on the first or second day of school before I have gotten to know the students, but they really could be used at anypoint throughout the year! Maybe June when you have tried every combination you can think of?

4-6 Math (Quick) Review

This game is intended for a quick/basic review using basic 5th grade (check up) questions. The questions with the least values are the easiest and build in difficulty as the values increase. Students can work in teams, with partners or as individuals using this game for overall review and/or a fun "break". Great to use with substitutes!

I originally created this as a review for my students, but it could also be used to teach the distributive property by connecting the prior knowledge of the order of operations.

About the store

Experience

I have been a full time teacher for the past eleven years. During this time I have taught 6th-10th grade Math, K-5th Special Education (all subject areas) as well as had the oppertunity to be K-5th Math Coach/Specialist.

Teaching style

I believe that there a common good teaching practices that we can all follow but at the same time we always need to remember that our students do not always have common needs. I try to form my activities around both trains of thought. If something is not broken, why fix it?!? But, always be ready and flexible to teach towards the students needs.

Additional biographical information

My approach to my products/lessons is basic and straight forward. I feel it is more important to have quality questions and practice than fancy worksheets. While taking a (mom) year off from teaching I would like to continue adding more products to TPT. If you have suggestions to make these products better please let me know! If you like an activity (ex. Tic-Tac-Toe), but do not see the content (different math concept) feel free to request one. As all teachers know, these things take hours to make! I have the time if you have the ideas:)
