I have taught for 16 years in public and private schools. I have taught grades K, 1, and 2. I currently teach first grade at Randolph School in Huntsville, AL.
A tally chart for students to fill in as they find sight words in books or around the classroom. A fun way for students to practice sight words and reading at the same time. And the tally marks are a simple math practice also!
Use during Daily 5 or a class book study. Students can give their book a star rating and then use writing and literacy skills to describe the book and give their opinion.
Use this for signing students up for Daily 5 each day. Students can use the code to sign up themselves, or the teacher can fill it out. Simply fill in students' names. This also helps students and teacher see previous choices so they are sure to get in all 5 in a week or day (however you work it).

Teaching style
Learning should be fun for the student! I use music, silly rhymes, games, small groups, and lots of hands on activities.
