This reading activity has students reading a short paragraph, and determining which sentence doesn't make sense in the paragraph, or just isn't important enough to include in the paragraph. Students are given multiple choice options to choose from, which is offers great test-taking practice.

Place vs. Value I-Spy or Around the Room activity. This activity really forces students to pay attention to whether the task card is asking the place of a specified digit (Hundreds, tens, ones) or if it is asking for the value of a specified digit (value of the 3 in 345 is 300). An "I Spy" or "around the room" activity! Students will look at each task card and write the numbers that represent what is being shown by the base 10 blocks. Perfect to get students up and moving around the room during math. Or you could use it at a center. Students will add them together and show their work on the recording sheet. These are two digit addition problems, with regrouping.
I printed them off on BRIGHT neon paper, laminated, cut and taped around the room!

Estimate the Sum and Find the Sum
This math product comes with two exit tickets to quickly assess student's understanding of estimating the sum of two digit numbers, and actually solving for the total sum of two digit numbers withOUT regrouping. This presents problems in vertical and horizontal format, as well as, base 10 blocks, and a word problem.
