Save time in your alphabet section of your multisensory program! Simply print and tape to the floor. As your students walk in, they will step on each one and say the alphabet aloud. You can even do the missing letter deck by covering letters with an index card. Once students complete their alphabet task, have them walk to the posted alphabet or vowel valley and ask them questions like: "What is the initial/medial/final letter?" "What are the digraphs?" "How many letters are in the alphabet?" "

These can be updated with individual student goals. It is helpful to have each student come up with the goals with the teacher. They can be printed and kept in a folder that is carried by the student to each class. Rewards can be given on Wednesdays and Fridays if the student reaches the set number of smiley faces for his/her goal. This is a great way to keep documentation on students who struggle with behavior.
