About the store

Experience

I am a sixth year teacher in Virginia. I taught for three years in third grade, and am on my second year in sixth grade at the same elementary school. I have also been a daycare teacher and tutor!

Teaching style

I believe in emphasizing the relationships children have with themselves, reading, and others. Students who love to read, succeed! All forms of reading count as reading, and have value.

My own education history

I have a Bachelor's from Franklin and Marshall College in Animal Behavior, as my first career was working with animals. I received my educational training from Moravian College.

Additional biographical information

I am a 35 year old lifelong animal lover! I have had cats, dogs, and horses as well as many smaller creatures throughout my life. I love to cook, read, and travel. My reading preferences include dystopians, poetry, and nonfiction that relates to biological sciences and World War II.
