These prompts are great to use during morning meetings, as transitions, or even during designated social-emotional learning time. Students are able to share how they feel as well as get to know one another better. They can share in groups, as a whole class, or even with a partner.

These slides are helpful when introducing poems to students. There is a quick review of a poem and some examples. It then continues on to the specific type of poem which is Alliteration. Included are examples of an alliteration poem along with how to create your own poem.

These Social Emotional Learning activities help build community in the classroom and allow students to express themselves. The different prompts can be used during units and/or holidays.

Here are three topics your students can practice counterarguing with. Students can start with these and then can be challenged with other topics and/or arguments. This is a great activity for debates and persuasive writing.

These slides are great practice for making predictions and assisting students with understanding what a prediction is. This lesson/activity can be used before or during reading.
