Need a clear visual to explain gestalt language to parents? I use this to help parents see the sequence of stages from echolalia to novel language. The first page is short and easy to comprehend, while the second page goes into more detail with examples of each stage.
Compare and contrast the OR versus ER in these minimal pair words. I use these in speech therapy for my students who have trouble with lip rounding too much during the ER words. I also use it to increase phonological awareness during vocalic R articulation practice. Students can identify and sort the different types of R. We also use the letters to discuss how some words are spelled differently (ur, ir, er) but all sound the same (ER). This really emphasizes that they need to listen for which t
Target regular past tense through charades, hide and seek, or flashcards. These are perfect for auditory bombardment, recasting, and independent productions of past tense verbs. I've included 4 of each type of phonetic presentation: /t/, /d/, and /ɪd/ depending on the final phoneme of the verb. So it makes data collection easy. 12 different trials, divided into 3 different groups. The /t/ group includes: washed, clapped, sniffed, jumped. The /d/ group includes: smiled, cried, played, tied. The /
List to reference all receptive language skills! This contains both a quick reference list and a more detailed list with 2-4 examples for each skill. This is helpful use as an SLP, and to give to parents. I use it to check which receptive language goals I should be exploring more.
Minimal pairs to compare and contrast voiced vs. voiceless consonants. Contains B-P pairs, D-T pairs, and G-K pairs. I use this with my clients who have errors with voicing on word-initial stop consonants. It has been useful in speech sessions for clients with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS), suspected CAS, and phonological disorders.
Fun pictures of 72 different vocalic R words, organized by each of the vowels. Includes ER, AR, OR, EAR, IRE, AIR, and OUR words. For each of the vowels, there are "level 1" words, which are more simple, as they end on the R. There are also the more challenging "level 2" words, which have a vowel or consonant after the R. These can be used as articulation flashcards at the single word level, carrier phrase level, sentence level, or make stories by combining the words!
Do your students have trouble with making rude comments? This decision map defines these statements and guides them to the right decision. Social skills in this area are crucial, as many students will say what's on their mind, without knowing how to re-word it or simply keep it in their head. This ends up hurting the feelings of their peers or family members. I use this to help my students respectfully disagree and give feedback.

Easy guide for syllable shapes to target in apraxia and early speech. I use this to show parents the steps we're using to build more complex words. I also use it for myself to organize high value words for therapy.
THR blends to use in speech therapy! This includes 3 different activities: Sentence matching (fill in the blank), defining thr-words, and reading new sentences. I use this with students who are targeting R clusters as well as complexity.
A combination of two great products for classifying the 4 communication functions. I use the blank one during language samples and for weekly data collection, and the one with info on it for describing this concept to parents. I find it useful for early intervention, gestalt language processing, autism, and early childhood apraxia.
Helpful handout to explain the complexity approach to parents (and ourselves!) I use this when I need a refresher to guide which sounds I should be targeting for my clients with phonological sound errors. I like the waterfall analogy because it's one of the few things in nature where we start at the top to create change towards the bottom!
40+ words containing R in mixed word positions. This includes initial R, medial R, final vocalic R, and R blends. I use this to vary the phonological contexts, using the principles of motor learning to generalize R skills quicker. My students love role playing to take each other's orders and pay for their order. Each menu item has at least 2 R words, some have up to 4. See the additional R words which come up while ordering.
Looking for an easy way to show parents the importance of prelinguistic skills? I created this apple tree to explain the foundational skills for language development in 0-3 year olds. Discussing this with parents has helped them celebrate the little wins. It's not always about the apples! We celebrate the roots too!
Organizer for the 4 communication functions (labels, protests, comments, and requests). I use this with my expressive language delay, autism, AAC, and gestalt language clients to categorize each of their utterances during language samples and during our regular sessions.
Parent handout to explain the four communication functions (labels, protests, comments, & requests). I use this to explain language functions for early intervention, autism, gestalt language processing, and AAC. I also use it as the speech therapist myself to classify utterances into these categories.
Comparison of gestalt language processing and analytic language processing. I find this to be a helpful list of traits when introducing GLP to parents. It's a brief summary for parents to reference at home. Note that every child may not be 100% gestalt or analytic, but rather, have some gestalt traits and some analytic traits.
Summarize Gestalt Language for parents in 4 different ways. Some with more detail, some with less detail, some with examples, and some in a list form. Use whichever works best for that family!
Clear examples of be verbs in different contexts. Easy to explain to parents, and even use as a study guide for linguistics. I use this to figure out which types of be verbs a student has acquired and which they may be omitting.
