About the store
Hi, my name is Chelsea Lentz and I am in my 5th year of teaching high school math. I have taught Algebra 1, Honors Geometry, Algebra 2, Precalculus, and AP Precalculus. Fortunately, I taught these courses chronologically and saw first hand how the concepts of these courses build upon each other. I learned through experience and feedback from my students that a curriculum that connects and builds upon previous ideas is KEY for student enjoyment and comprehension. I have remade my content numerous times over the years and found success in what I do and I'm ready to share it with others!

What is an Angle Measure? What is a Radian? Notes, Assignment, and KEYS

Guided Notes, Assignment, and KEYS!Are you still saying an angle measure measures the space between two rays? The "openness" between two segments? Or even worse, a "rotation"?? If this is you, the misconceptions must stop! Relearn what you are measuring when measuring an angle. After this lesson, your kids will see radians as the superior angle measuring unit!

Solving Literal Equations Using S.A.D.M.E.P Notes, Assignment, and KEYS

Guided Notes, TWO Assignments, and KEYS!The ULTIMATE challenge for students when solving equations is to exchange numbers for variables and see if their S.A.D.M.E.P skills prevail. Can your students interpret their solutions in context when their solution contains strictly variables?

Solving 1 and 2 Step Equations Using S.A.D.M.E.P Notes, Assignment and KEYS

Guided Notes, TWO Assignments, and KEYS!When solving equations, students need a guideline for the order of operations using a previous idea. S.A.D.M.E.P exemplifies the opposing relationship between students' previous knowledge of evaluating an expression using P.E.M.D.A.S, and the new skill of solving an equation.

Solving Equations Variables on Both Sides Notes, Assignment, and KEYS

Guided Notes, Assignment, and KEY!Students struggle understanding the difference between simplifying, manipulating, and solving when multiple terms carry a variable!! When does S.A.D.M.E.P apply?? All of these skills can be applied in a single problem and can make simple problem seem much more complex. Take a look at how to break this down simply.

Intro to Solving (Maintaining True Statements) Notes, Assignments and KEYS

Guided Notes, Assignment, and KEY!Solving equations is a MAJOR skill in Algebra 1, but before we introduce this, students MUST understand what it means to manipulate a statement in general. The foundational skill needed to solve equations requires acknowledgment of an equality that must be upheld throughout manipulation. Giving students the opportunity to manipulate and maintain true statements with no variables provides a way to make sense of what solving entails when variables are introduce

Teaching style

I believe your strength as a teacher is in the content you make and how you deliver your curriculum to your students. Does your content challenge your students? Does your curriculum allow students to practice grit, problem-solving, and team work? Are the foundational concepts of your course solidified well enough for students to be self sufficient in their learning? Can your students summarize what your course entails at the end of the year? These are all things that I try to embody in my curriculum.
