My teaching style weaves collaboration, creativity, and purposeful fun to inspire confidence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning in every student. Promoting excellence while embracing joy was always essential in my classroom—especially during the long winter months, when fun helped spark curiosity and sustain engagement. Over the years, I came to deeply value quality over quantity, recognizing that meaningful, higher-level learning requires effort, dedication, and time. I designed my resources with Howard Gardner’s Multiple Intelligences in mind, aiming to challenge and support learners in diverse, creative ways. My goal was always to elevate lessons so they felt relevant, student-centered, and curiosity-driven. While the internet offers incredible educational opportunities, I used it mindfully—guiding students through socially conscious projects that nurtured research, writing, and presentation skills. In the elementary grades, I especially enjoyed integrating cursive writing into the curriculum. Yes, even my Grade Two students developed beautiful cursive! They loved writing silly sentences where every word began with the same letter—often the class erupted in laughter. It was incredibly rewarding to observe students who struggled with printing begin to flourish, transforming messy scribblers into graceful, confident penmanship (yes, both boys and girls!). For many, it wasn’t just about learning to write—it was about discovering their voice and building lasting self-confidence. In summary, I believe great teaching happens when students feel empowered, engaged, and encouraged to explore their potential through meaningful, joyful learning experiences. Above all, I strive to create a classroom where every learner feels valued and empowered—a place where curiosity thrives and lifelong learning begins.

Growing up, I truly loved school—every part of it! From Friday afternoon art classes and lighthearted recess games (even snowball fights in the winter!) to the joy of singing in harmony during music lessons, I embraced the classroom as a place of wonder and interaction. I still remember the magic of morning read-alouds and the thrill of writing stories inspired by a painting or photograph. Show and Tell was always a highlight (yes, I once brought in a puppy!), and those early experiences helped shape my lifelong love of learning. As an educator, I strive to bring that same sense of joy, curiosity, and creativity into everything I do. Whether I’m teaching in the classroom or designing resources for fellow educators, I draw on the rich, inspiring foundation of my own school experience to help students feel excited, engaged, and eager to learn.
