This is a social story about independence for your students! In the story it promotes doing tasks independently and continuing to try before asking for help. This is very beneficial for students who may need some encouragement when it comes to completing tasks such as dressing/undressing, putting on or taking off shoes, packing their belongings, gathering their own materials, etc.
If you are struggling teaching your little ones how to wait their turn to talk, this social story is perfect for you! You could introduce it as a large group or for individual students.
I Spy is always a fun game to play! Test your students problem solving skills and see if they can find every item on the list. You could use magnifying glasses to find the items or use a writing utensil to cross off the items on the list once found.
Every winter I do this activity with my class and it's so much fun! We talk about the different seasons and we use/practice fine motor skills (cutting, pinching, using glue sticks). The only other materials you'd need with this activity is scissors and glue sticks.
If you want to have posters of all the colors in your classroom, these are very fun and the kids love looking at the different backgrounds of the colors! All you have to do is laminate (if you wish) and hang them up.
Want to teach your students more about emotions? The mood chart is something we use in my classroom every day! Not only is it fun, it helps us practice our social emotional skills. The only other materials you would need is a poster board, 4 pieces of construction paper (red, blue, yellow and green), and if you choose, velcro stickers for their names.
Daily Schedule for white board or other display in your classroom. Different parts of the day usually used in Preschool or Kindergarten classrooms such as Breakfast, Lunch, Clean Up Time, Small Group etc.
Sometimes we need an activity that gives us a change of scenery. Taking your kid's on a color hunt is such a fun experience for them! This works either inside or outside and gives your child/student a chance to have a brain break and look for things of different colors and check them off. This activity helps work on fine motor, data analysis, science (colors of the rainbow), and observations.
Song Book cover and different song pages to place inside. You can glue onto colored paper or laminate and put into a binder for your classroom or play area.
This sheet works perfectly for activities to practice sorting and matching colors. The materials you would need in addition to this would be tongs or tweezers, and your choice of colored materials such as pom poms, buttons, counting bears/dinosaurs, etc.
