This tri-fold poster board project is a great companion to a California mission model/replica that can be purchased and any craft store. The project handout includes a Big Idea, CA state standards, purpose, material list, and paper sample.

Make your students a writing journal at a fraction of the cost. Simply print both pages using front and back of xerox paper. Then, staple 15 to 20 sheets to a manilla folder and PRESTO you have a writing journal for your students.

This fluency worksheet is kept by students to keep track of their progress as they time themselves. It includes a space for the following: Name; Date; Fluency Passage Title; a table for their progress; and a section to indicate challenging of difficult words.
The worksheet contains three fluency recording sheets. Simply cut-out.
The alphabet assessment sheets are to keep colored coded monthly progress. As student identify a letter it is circled and recorded. Each month a different color is to be used during the letter ID assessment. I used this format and it was a great tool for parent to see their children's progress.
Upper case and lower case assessments are included.
This handout is kept in my students writing folder. It is a handout that is revisited before each writing task. The handout reflects the structure of an essay.

Reciprocal Teaching refers to instructional activities in which teachers model, then help students learning using four strategies: summarizing, inferring, clarifying, and predicting.
Once students have learned the strategies, they take turns in leading a dialogue about what has been read.

This lesson is used to evaluate student's knowledge and skill level. The file includes: Four - Part Constructed Response worksheet, four point rubric, and two word problems.
The Building Vocabulary with Word Mapping worksheet includes boxes to identify prefixes, root words, and suffixes. They identify and discuss/look up the meanings. In addition, they add synonyms, antonyms, part of speech, related words, definition, and a sentence.
They become excellent index cards for vocabulary exams or quizzes.
